Analysis Of William Shakespeare s I Didn t Say No

When I was asked by my friends and the producers of this play Bill and Bobby Bunting, to direct the play I couldn’t say no. This complex play will bring a bit of humour to this year s Festival of Arts. My plan is to artfully update it for the 21st century, retaining its essential moral argument while making it something which modern audiences can more easily relate to, and additionally attract the interest of an audience of all ages who will no doubt enjoy the show As we are setting this play in the streets of the city of Adelaide, the play will be shown on a stage in the park surrounded by beautiful trees. Positioning the play in a park setting in the evening within the cityscape is a perfect backdrop for this much-loved Shakespearian play. A lot of the action takes place in echoing high-end interiors, perfect for a story where everyone is constantly eavesdropping on everyone else When I was reading Shakespeare s original play in high school I didn t really enjoy it or understand what was going on. I now realise that If you can get past the antiquated language, the stories are enjoyable and thought-provoking. We’ve decided to avoid the language barrier slightly by having the play presented in a modern-day setting. This way people will enjoy the play and not need to translate various obscure words. Guantanamo Bay As Nelson Mandela once said, â€Å"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.† Guantà ¡namo bay, Cuba is the home of the oldest U.S naval station base out of the continental U.S. The United States invaded Guantà ¡namo bay and established a base during the Spanish-American war (â€Å"Guantanamo...† 2008, par. 2). After the attack on the twin towers on September 11, 2001, the base’s mission expanded to include the Detainee Mission of the War of Terror (â€Å"Guantanamo†¦Ã¢â‚¬  2008, par. 5). Many issues have risen because of this detention facility. The detainees held at the facility have to and had to face many challenges. The government took away their human rights and treats these detainees very harshly. Currently, there are still detainees held at Guantà ¡namo bay. However, some actions have occurred to stop these inhumane actions, but there have not been enough to close the facility down. Interrogation Techniques Detainees held at Guantanamo bay are all interrogated and later classified as an enemy combatant^1. As each detainee is interrogated, several techniques were used.
